If you think
you've come up with a great title for your story, the next thing to do is check
Amazon to see whether there are other books with the same title. This week I tried out a title for the first
book of my next series with eXtasy Books.
There were—no kidding—seven other books listed with that title.
Titles can't
be copyrighted. I've used titles when
there are other books listed with the same name, if there seems to be little
possibility that the two could be confused.
But seven others was a bit much.
So I juggled the words around, kept checking, and ultimately came up
with a title that no one else has listed.
And I think it might be the best titled I've ever coined.
What is it? I'll tell
you when the book comes out. The
publication date is December 1.
